Aware 2.0 - Signal Rule and Policy Setup

This guide provides a step-by-step walkthrough on how to set up a rule within the aware Monitoring system. The process involves defining the rule scope, specifying triggers, and selecting optional notifications. The system offers a high degree of customization, allowing users to pinpoint the exact content to monitor and decide who is included or excluded from the scope of the rule.

The following provides key points on setting up Signal Rules and Policies:

1. Starting Point: The process begins in the monitoring module of the Aware Monitoring System, where a specific policy is selected.
2. Viewing Rules: Within the rules tab, users can view different rules that trigger on the selected policy.
3. Rule Builder: The rule builder involves three steps to create a rule and start triggering on content.
4. Defining Rule Scope: The first step is defining the rule scope, which includes naming the rule, defining the behavior type, selecting where to look within the connected collaboration platform, and deciding whether to include or exclude specific users or Active Directory groups.
5. Defining Triggers: The next step is defining what specifically will trigger the rule. The system provides out-of-the-box keyword and phrase lists, regular expression patterns, and other conditions to pinpoint the exact content to trigger on.
6. Granular Control: The system allows for granular control over the content to look for through 'or' and 'not' conditions.
7. Operational Notifications: The final step is selecting any optional notifications. Without this, an event will still be populated within Aware Monitoring, but no other workflows will automatically kick off.
8. Workflow Activation: If a workflow is desired, one of the actions can be utilized and appropriate email address or content associated to any emails that may go out can be defined.
9. Rule Activation: Once everything is set up, the rule can be saved and closed, and it will start triggering on content as soon as anything matches.
